Senior Test Lab Engineer

Roles/Responsibilities: 

The Senior Test Lab Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design and support in building a test lab pilot and associated hardware solutions that meet the business needs of the customer. The primary area of focus will be building out and testing Information Technology solutions to support the enhancement of OIS processes with a variety of security tools. The individual will have knowledge and some exposure to deployed applications including SolarWinds, SourceFire, Landcope, FireEye, Tipping Point, and Gigimon. These applications are installed on primarily Linux as well as Windows systems, so background with Linux, Windows, Switches, Routers and Firewalls are a definite plus. Ability to engineer custom solutions extending these applications far beyond the “out-of-the-box” functionality. These custom solutions require more than simple installation and configuration of these applications. Must be able to follow a Systems Development Life Cycle process, similar to CMMI, performing requirements analysis, system design and testing associated with implementation and support of applications. Ability lead teams consisting of systems engineers, technical resources, leads and users to ensure effective and efficient delivery of business process enhancements. 

  • Design, build, and maintain lab

  • Work with vendors to launch new proof of concepts
  • Work with local team to support product demos
  • Gather requirements and stage pre-production roll-outs
  • Coordinate resources and lab schedule

Qualifications/Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or relevant work experience required or at least 4 years of IT experience and at least 5 years directly related to the required area of expertise
  • Possess 5 years IT Security experience
  • Must have a current secret clearance

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience installing, configuring and administering Linux and Active Directory
  • Understanding of OSI Model
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Linux or CentOS
  • Familiar with Event Management and Routing
  • Proficient with stage testing
  • Windows Server experience
  • Strong VMWare knowledge
  • Familiarity with network-based storage technologies
  • Understanding of the function, operations and management of network infrastructure components (switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, etc.)
  • Thorough understanding of IP addressing and subnetting
  • Ability to interpret complex network designs
