Network LAN-WAN Admin

This position is part of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Enterprise Operations & Maintenance contract (SITEC EOM).  It supports the 24x7x365 mission support capabilities for all USSOCOM locations.  Primary duties are to ensure all network systems are fully operational and compliant with information assurance and cyber security directives for the USSOCOM enterprise network and the local network segments.

  • This position requires shift and weekend work
  • Performs tier one and two network support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. Candidates for the NA provide administration of network and communications systems, including, but not limited to, Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) systems. 
  • Needs solid technical skills and experience with a variety of network protocols, software, and hardware involved in LAN and WAN operations.
  • The position requires strong troubleshooting, analytic and diagnostic skills, along with good communication abilities.
  • Responsible for creating monitoring reports and managing equipment logs, as well as ensuring the functionality of links. 
  • Coordinates network administration and performance requirements with other members of the networking team. 
  • Identifies, analyzes, and documents long-range requirements, and administers resources related to the enterprise network. 
  • Prepares technical implementation plans that provide integrated solutions, including actions, milestones, timelines and critical paths required for complete solutions. 
  • Administers the operation of LAN/WAN-related network services according to Government policies and procedures
  • Coordinates and implements network software and hardware upgrades
  • Troubleshoots and resolves LAN/WAN performance, connectivity, and related network problems
  • Administering LAN/WAN security and malware control measures

Required Qualifications/Education requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Cisco CCNA
  • IAT Level II in accordance with DoDD 8140 (CompTIA Security+ or CCNA Security)
  • Minimum of 4 Years intensive and progressive experience in networking
